2nd District Assemblymen John Amodeo and Vince Polistina today announced their Assembly committee assignments for the 2010-2011 Legislative Session.
“The next two years will be challenging as we fix how the State will fund transportation projects. While years of reckless borrowing will make it difficult, I think we can find a fiscally prudent way of paying for our roads and bridges,” said Amodeo regarding his reappointment to the Assembly Transportation, Public Works, and Independent Authorities Committee. “Equally important, I am looking forward to working with my fellow committee members in promoting the aviation industry in Atlantic County and in the state.” Amodeo will also continue to serve on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. “South Jersey is unique when it comes to agriculture,” noted Amodeo. “We grow and harvest world class produce and seafood in our own backyard. It is the duty of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee to actively insure that local farming remains vibrant.” Assemblyman Vince Polistina will remain on the Health and Senior Services Committee and will sit on the newly created Regulatory Oversight and Gaming Committee. "Of course, no two committees go more hand in hand," said Polistina. "A healthy casino industry means better quality of life for our seniors. Earlier this week we accomplished the first step on our ten point plan to revitalize Atlantic City with the signing of an executive order to ensure that Atlantic City’s casinos would never experience another shutdown. I look forward to working closely with Governor Christie and my colleagues to streamline casino regulations, prevent VLTs in North Jersey race tracks, and better utilize CRDA funds to redevelop and market Atlantic City for years to come. A thriving Atlantic City goes hand in hand with our State’s ability to fund critical services for our seniors, veterans, and disabled residents.” ### |
